CMSA San Diego Chapter Wins Chapter Of The Year

The California Moving & Storage Association (CMSA) gave its Chapter of the
Year award to the San Diego Chapter during its Paradise Awards Luncheon on May 18, 2013, during the 95th CMSA Convention.
San Diego Chapter President Thomas McCarthy of McCarthy Transfer & Storage, Inc. (an interstate agent for Wheaton World Wide Moving) in El Cajon, Calif., was given the award on behalf of the chapter. McCarthy thanked the chapter members for their support during the course of the year and asked members who supported the chapter to stand up for recognition during the luncheon.
Successfully keeping the chapter’s donation amounts under wraps until the luncheon, McCarthy declared that the San Diego Chapter raised $25,000 for the CMSA Scholarship Fund and $500 for the Special Olympics. McCarthy said the chapter’s annual golf tournament had nearly 130 golfers attending the event. The San Diego Chapter had also hosted a toy drive and a San Diego Padres game during the year.
The California Moving & Storage Association (CMSA) is a nonprofit trade association representing more than 385 licensed and insured movers operating in California. The CMSA also includes more than 185 associate member companies. Established in 1916, the CMSA is comprised of 12 chapters strategically located throughout California.
